A film about distance, listening, and unfinished business
Clatter & Hum follows a classical voice teacher in New York and her estranged father, an avant-garde sound artist. After years of silence, they cross the United States collecting field recordings for what may be his final composition. The journey places music, ambient sound, memory, and a difficult family relationship inside the same moving frame.
The editing scope
Daniel Scheimberg is editing the feature in Adobe Premiere Pro from Berlin. The work brings together the practical demands of a road movie with the film's quieter attention to listening: movement across a large landscape, close exchanges between two people, and the recorded sounds that give the trip its purpose.
The project draws on Tiptoe's experience with independent features, technically organized post-production, and remote collaboration. The edit remains in progress, so this page will evolve as the film moves toward completion.
